How to choose Indian food

If anyone is finding to try something new and different he should not forget to try for Indian cooked food. Many people opt it by thinking it too spicy, but in reality it is the most colorful and flavorful dishes which one should try at-least once in his or her life. The Indian food varies because of their different regions the reason being that it has healing qualities in it. Following are some facts about Indian food from which many of you are still unaware:

1: Indian food is full of spices like- salt is very famous for its taste, jeera i.e cumin for fragrance, turmeric i.e. haldi for colour, laal mirchi i.e. red chilies for adding spice, amchur i.e. dry mango powder is used for adding piquancy, heeng i.e asafetida for digestion and coriander for garnishing which gives lovely fragrance.

2: Mostly Indians are vegetarians so the foods of Indians are mostly consists of vegetables are used as key ingredients in their meals.

3: As fruits are considered as energy giving agents so they are included in the food extensively, these add different taste and flavors in the food.

4: Aniseed is added in some vegetarian dishes for enhancing flavors, fenugreek is added for enhancing bitterness, onion seeds are used in pickling, mustard seeds add sourness in food, poppy seeds enhance flavors , saffron enhances color and fragrance. So while eating, choose Indian food as it is not only good in taste but also good for health.
